We are Mali Moir and Ben Beeton, two Australian artists and educators passionate about nature and visual literacy. We believe that when you slow down and focus, to sketch a leaf, track a bird song, or photograph a native flower, you aren't just documenting nature—you are building a profound bond with the Earth. Art About Nature was born from a desire to blend traditional field-naturalist observation with cutting-edge technology. As project managers for Australia’s national public art trail of Genestreaming Sculptures, we want to help communities learn, connect and protect our natural world. Our experience is that you don't need an art degree or professional background to share your unique connection to the places you love. Whether you're a bushwalker with a smartphone camera, a field naturalist documenting biodiversity, a school or home-schooling family or an amateur artist, all contributions are welcome.

Whether you submit a simple pencil sketch, a quick smartphone snapshot, or a refined artwork, our monthly exhibition is all about celebrating your unique creative response to nature." • "What age group is this program designed for?" Our activities are perfect for creatives from primary school to adults and any skill level.  • “How does the augmented reality work?" With your first subscription payment you will receive a link to our private Facebook group to view the AR (augmented reality) sculpture. Our detailed AR sculptures can take a moment to load. If it feels glitchy, close background apps to free up your phone's memory! • "My child struggles to focus on book work. Will this be a distraction?" Quite the opposite. Nature journaling is highly disciplined work. It requires focus, patience & fine motor skills. Our guides teach students how to bring the focus of an inquisitive scientist, grounding restless energy into beautiful, intentional learning. • "Do I need to buy expensive art supplies?" No. A simple journal notebook, graphite pencils, some coloured pencils or a basic watercolour set is more than enough.
